CHRISTIANS WHO STRUGGLE

Today I would like to share a discussion that was directed toward Christians who feel that the temptation of same-sex attraction and homosexual behavior is just too strong to overcome or not give into.
1Corinthians 10:13

“No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it”. (Esv)

As those of us who struggle know, the attraction to another person of the same sex, is great.  Just as it is for those who do not have same-sex attraction (opposite attracted) people struggle just like we do. Just as there are biblical standards for same-sex attraction there are biblical standards for opposite sex attraction.

Let’s break down the verse that I gave you and take a look at that from a same-sex perspective, dealing with specifically homosexual acts.

IS THIS YOU!?

 .                                       .                      .
TELL ME YOUR THOUGHTS.   OPEN THE DOOR OF TRUTH!

DESIRE

What is it?  Is it the same as passion?  Is it good or bad?  Is it Godly?  Can I control it?
As always we look at all topics from a Biblical perspective.  I believe you will find that whether you understand the Bible or not you will find this message to be true to the core of your being.

Webster’s defines it as, “To long or hope for” or “To feel the loss of”.
The Bible shows us desire in two distinct ways first….
As with any concept with God there are “two sides to the coin” respectively.  God is all loving and holy.  He does not push us to Himself yet he sets forth a perfect path to His presence and security.

Let’s go back to the Garden of Eden.

YOUTH OF TODAY

Youth of Today
This past week Free Indeed was honored to bring its message of hope to junior high and high school students ranging from ages 11 to 18
We were invited by the youth pastor Matt, who felt that the best way to confront societal issues was to confront them head on, while giving the young people an opportunity to know that the church (and he) not only care and understand but are concerned as well.

RELATIONSHIPS

?...YOU ARE!
The synopsis of a group discussion on relationships.

What are they, what’s acceptable and what’s appropriate?  And what God sees and deems a relationship to be in all of these aspects.
As you know our discussion topic conclusions are the collective thoughts of those who attend.  These thoughts are not scientific or in any way extracted from other people’s ideas or written in their own books or writings. These are thoughts from real people in real situations
I hope you will read this article and examine (with an open mind) these thoughts and ideas to enable you to discover within yourself that what you feel relationships are about and how they correspond with your life and what is good and right for you.
Here is our perspective:

EMPTINESS

Society has changed to accommodate
same sex attraction, while God has not.
Trying to reconcile being gay with who
we believe God to be can be
challenging and heartbreaking.
We seek high and low, day after day,
year after year, to fill the void that
consumes us so completely. We wonder,
is there anyone else who shares my
emotions and feelings?
Is there anyone who understands
what I am going through?
Perhaps you’re married with children,
single and dating, considering (or already
made) changes to your gender
to “fix” the problem, hiding in the shadows
of life or caught in drug and/or
alcohol abuse to numb the pain.
God has the answer!

"ALL WE WANT TO CHANGE IS YOUR MIND ABOUT GOD"

GET TO KNOW A.J....FIND THE TRUTH OF GOD'S LOVE

Blessings to All,

My name is A.J. I’m honored to have you take the time to read this and get to know me.
This message comes from my heart at the behest of those around me who ask who I am and how I came to be involved with Free Indeed Central Oregon.

I live in Redmond Oregon where I have been raised, graduated high school and moved into adulthood.  With many friends and family in my life, I have always been drawn to those who seek “help” in their personal lives including a relationship with God.

STRAIGHT?

We tackled the questions you see below.  Not as a test to what you think or believe but as a guide or path to what the terms mean to you and how we can use them (or not) when speaking about SSA.  Certainly, the knowledge and understanding you gain will go far to help you in many areas of life.
I have added content that was shared by the group.  I know you will agree with some, disagree with others and perhaps be confused by the whole thing.  Either way, I look forward to hearing from you, answering questions and most of all sharing your view.  Making us stronger one thought at a time.

What is your idea of straight?

SHAME AND ACCEPTANCE

SHAME

As in other postings, the answers listed below are not from a book nor are they “popular science”.  They are in fact the hearts and minds of those in attendance.  This is what Free Indeed has been saying along, “We meet you where you’re at!”

Enjoy!

BATTLE LINE VS. GOD'S PLAN

MAN'S BATTLE LINE

Greetings All,

Free Indeed Central Oregon (FICO) is officially up and running!  We held our first meeting and had a great time.

I would like to thank those who came for their time and their heart to learn this “new” message and leave with a whole new perspective.
